Whilst I love my London lifestyle, once the summer comes around and I am standing in front of a mirror in my bikini, I yearn to have had more activity filled days and workouts. I hate going to the gym, and only ever go so far as to buy a membership and going once, however at the sight of my wobbly thighs and stomach, Demi Moore I ain't!
So I decided to try something new and I took a walk along a beach! A pebble beach! Now I know you’re wondering where I'm going with this, but seriously. I dragged my long suffering boyfriend along and we walked and chatted away, stopping to pick up shells and write in the sand. We walked for about two hours before turning back. Afterwards we stopped had some food at a seaside cafe at sunset. All in all, a lovely relaxing and romantic day.
Anyway, the next morning when I woke up, I could hardly move. Well, that’s a slight exaggeration, but my thighs were killing me! It was as if I had had a major workout, I couldn't believe it. I was having such fun and was distracted with our chatter that I hardly noticed that the beach ran down at an angle and I was constantly sliding on the pebbles and trying to balance. Result!
So for a pain free (until the next day), fun way of getting in shape head to your nearest pebble beach!
Since then I have tried various beach terrains, dunes being quite good, and actually wading through the water.
